Future growth area — the Western Geelong Growth Area forms part of the Northern and Western Geelong Growth Areas, guided by the Framework Plan adopted by the City of Greater Geelong in August 2020. Four Precinct Structure Plans — Batesford North, McCanns Lane / Merrawarp Road, Batesford South and Heales Road East — are being prepared by the Department of Transport and Planning, with finalised plans due by 2031. No Precinct Structure Plan in this precinct has been gazetted yet.
