We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). "Personal Information" has the meaning given in the Privacy Act, being in sum - Information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether true or not, and whether recorded in material form or not.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and manage your personal information we collect either from you when you use our websites, services, and platforms or otherwise interact with us, or from third parties.

We may also collect information when you subscribe to newsletters, register for an account, complete calculators, download resources, submit listings, participate in surveys, provide reviews or attend events.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to provide access to our property search and business directory platforms, facilitate mortgage broker connections, deliver school zone information and market insights, manage business directory listings, respond to your inquiries, send property alerts, analyse usage patterns to improve services, and (with consent) send marketing communications.

We may also process information based on legitimate business interests, including preventing fraud, enforcing our Terms, complying with legal obligations, and managing business analytics.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

4.1 When We Share Your Information

We may share your personal information with property developers, builders, real estate agents and project marketing teams whose listings you inquire about; mortgage brokers and lenders in the HALP Home Loans partner network; professional service providers (conveyancers, valuers, removalists) upon request; technology service providers (Amazon Web Services, Pipedrive, ActiveCampaign, Google Workspace, Google Drive, Stripe, Google Analytics); our related bodies corporate and affiliates; professional advisors; business purchasers or successors; and government agencies, courts and regulators where legally required.

4.2 How We Share Information

Property Listing Inquiries: When you submit an inquiry about a specific property listing, your inquiry goes directly to the listing agent, developer or builder. HALP does not store or process these property-specific inquiries — the property advertiser becomes the data controller for your inquiry.

General Platform Inquiries: When you use our general inquiry forms (Contact Us, Join Us, Advertise With Us), your information is collected and stored by HALP in our CRM systems (Pipedrive, ActiveCampaign), with supporting documentation in Google Drive. Newsletter subscriptions are stored in ActiveCampaign; account registrations are stored in our secure database.

4.3 No Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Security and Storage

We implement SSL encryption, encrypted storage, secure authentication and access controls, regular security assessments, restricted staff access, secure Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centres, regular backups, PCI-DSS compliant payment processing through Stripe, and staff training.

Payment processing is handled by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1). HALP does not store complete credit card numbers.

Retention: account information is retained while active plus 7 years after closure; inquiry and communication records up to 7 years; transaction records 7 years; marketing data until you unsubscribe; analytics typically 26 months.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use essential, analytics, functional and marketing cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, our cookie consent banner and third-party opt-out tools. We may also use web beacons, pixel tags, local storage and social media widgets.

7. Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to access, correct or receive a portable copy of your personal information; opt out of marketing; and request account deletion. To exercise these rights email privacy@halp.com.au.
